New England Fishing SEASON
Our fishing season and the fish we expect to see.

May, June
  • Excellent School Striper fishing, with larger Stripers arriving in late June
  • Mackerel appear mid to late May and often stay around through July
  • The fishing offshore for Cod, Haddock and Pollock is exceptional

July
  • Bait fish are everywhere, water is warming up and Striper fishing typically peaks, big Stripers are in the surf and well into the rivers
  • Mackerel fishing remains good (until Blues arrive)
  • Offshore ground fishing slows down somewhat, but is still reasonable and well worth the trip
  • Blue fish start appearing in rivers and coastal waters

August
  • Stripers can be found,  just requires a little more work
  • Offshore ground fishing is still pretty good
  • Mackerel usually move offshore because Bluefish in large numbers are just about everywhere
  • School Tuna appear usually in an offshore to inshore sequence

September
  • School Tuna fishing really heating up
  • Stripers start heading south, this is the time to catch some really big Stripers
  • Bluefish everywhere

October
  • School Tuna "as good as it gets"
  • Stripers start tapering off towards end of the month
  • Fishing for Bluefish still pretty good
