The new boat has been in the water for a month now. I have been busy equipping it with an EPIRB and a survival raft and learning all of the new electronics and systems. Everything is working great and last Saturday, 5/23, I went out for my first offshore ground fishing trip. We went about 10 miles offshore and fished for Cod. The fishing was excellent, see the photos on photo page. The fish were good size, from 13 lbs to 25 lbs. There were a lot of boats out there and good fishing lasted all morning. Friends of mine have been catching loads of keeper Haddock out on Jeffries. I have a couple of charters this coming weekend and plan to fish both last Saturday's hot spot and Jeffries - I'll update the reports next Monday, 6/1.
Stripers are in the Piscataqua and following bait up into all of the feeder streams and creeks. Every stream and creek is loaded with alewifes, netters can be seen in these locations at the end of each outgoing tide. Rumor has it that some big Stripers were caught at the mouth of one of the creeks in Kittery. Also, lots of reports of schoolies in the river. Some mackeral are being caught out at the 2KR buoy (mouth of the Piscataqua) and in the river.
Charter Boat Fishing along the Maine and New Hampshire coast. Enjoy inshore fishing for Striped Bass, Bluefish and Mackeral. Enjoy deep sea fishing Maine and Newhampshire for Cod, Haddock and Pollock. When in season Tuna fishing is great off the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire.
