I went out yesterday, May 30, with 4 people from NY & NJ. Great weather, great seas, slow fishing. Caught one keeper Cod and lots of small Cod and one nice 25" Haddock - first of the season. My guess is that the Cod are moving farther offshore as we were fishing about 8 - 10 miles offshore a little south east of the Isles of Shoals (right where we had such great fishing a week ago). There were several other boats in the area but none seemed to be experiencing much action. We did catch a few mackerel out there but in general it was a slow day.
We also fished for Stripers in the mouth of the Piscataqua River with no luck. It appears that most of the Stripers have followed the bait well upriver and remain there. I did hear of some fish being caught along the shore, in amongst the rocks.
I have another charter mid-week and plan to fish on Jeffries Ledge (fingers) for Cod, Haddock and Pollock.
Charter Boat Fishing along the Maine and New Hampshire coast. Enjoy inshore fishing for Striped Bass, Bluefish and Mackeral. Enjoy deep sea fishing Maine and Newhampshire for Cod, Haddock and Pollock. When in season Tuna fishing is great off the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire.
