Maine Striper Fishing Update
June 27, 2009

Had two sports, one from Michigan and one from Iowa, out off the coast of Kittery. They caught lots of mackerel and a few herring off West Sisters Buoy which were later used to lure in some Stripers. There was a big swell on and fishing close up to the shore was a challenge but it was well worth it. In less than 2 hours they caught 4 slot fish as well as one 38 incher and one 41 incher - not bad considering that a week earlier we couldn't buy a decent fish. Current weather forecasts suggest that the fishing should remain good and I look forward to several weeks of good fishing.
