Fished with Lloyd and Jeff off the coast of Kittery Point, Maine. While we enjoyed clear skies and loads of bait fish the offshore breeze was fairly stiff and made fishing along the rocks off of Kittery Point a real challenge. We did not connect with any Stripers in any of my typical "hot spots". The reports from the other fisherman in the area were the same - a few occasional small fish but the big ones seemed to have taken a late holiday. Next we drifted live bait along the bottom at the mouth of the Piscataqua with similar results - no fish. Our last effort was to anchor off Fort Foster and, using fish finder slip weights, attempt to lure some bass out from behind the nets pilings on the outgoing tide. Guess what - that didn't work either and we ended the day skunked. Both Lloyd and Jeff worked diligently but the fish did not cooperate. I'm sure Lloyd, a big game hunter of some renown, will be a lot more successful on his African Safari hunt next month. Both Lloyd and Jim will receive the coveted "Big Fish Charters" cap for the great effort they put in casting big bait into the wind!
